Rosetta Cowson

September 26, 1949 — March 16, 2021

Rosetta Cowson, entered into eternal rest while peacefully sleeping in her home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was born to parents Frank Edward and Roberta (Weens) Boles, Sr. on September 26, 1949 in Toledo, OH. Rosetta graduated from Libbey High School in 1966. Affectionately known as "Bookie" by her husband, Erie LB Cowson, Sr. whom she met in junior high school and later married at the young age of 18 on December 30, 1967. Out of that union three children were born.

Rosetta loved her family and loved cooking. She was always inventing tasty sweet treats for her family to enjoy. Rosetta made a sweet potato pie that was so good that those who ate it, affectionately called it "Pie Crack," because once you tasted it, you wanted to have a slice all the time.

Everything about her was sweet and precious, Rosetta had such a caring heart that she shared with everyone she came in contact with. In 1973 Rosetta, her husband and family moved to Houston, Texas where they settled for 2 years. While there her occupation was a daycare provider, but soon after being in Texas for 2 years she and her family were homesick so they headed back home to Toledo, Ohio.

Upon returning to Toledo, Rosetta took a job at a local stamping plant and worked there for several years retiring as a homemaker while her husband worked on the Railroad and she took care of the children, whom loved her dearly.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Casper Lee Boles; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Boles. Left to cherish her memory are her loving brother, Frank Edward Boles, Sr.; three children, Erie (Octavia) Cowson, Sr., Monica Cowson and Brandon Cowson, Sr.; grandchildren, Erie Cowson, Jr., Christopher Cowson, Taylor Cowson, Kobie Cowson, Jamal Cowson Number #1, Jordan Cowson Hunt, Brandon Cowson, Jr., and Brian Cowson; and many more loving family members and friends.
