Rosemary (Monroe) Wagner
Rosemary left our world and went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania.
Rosemary was born on December 12, 1928 to Valentine and Sophia (Zaborski) Pokrywka in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1946 and later attended accounting classes at Owens College. She had four children from her first marriage to William Monroe, which ended in an early divorce. Much later, she married Wesley Wagner on July 2, 1994 after dating him for many years. Rosemary lived in Toledo for most of her life but also lived in Oregon, Ohio and later Temperance, Michigan.
Rosemary was a bookkeeper-office manager for the public relations firm, Rotsinger, Tenney, Richard, Inc. (formerly Burr Agency) for 19 years. She was a bookkeeper for the accounting firm, Lubin, Sussman, Rosenberg and Damrauer for 4 years. Most recently, Rosemary was a bookkeeper-manager for Clark Snodgrass Co. (Pella Windows) where she retired after 14 years with the company.
Rosemary felt her most important achievement was raising four children alone. She was a devoted mother and the best grandmother a child could hope for. She always made time for joyful outings with both her children and grandchildren. She was loving, kind-hearted and a wonderful role model. The time spent with family and friends was Rosemary's greatest joy and she leaves behind many happy memories. Rosemary also loved dancing, traveling, flower gardening, reading and doing crossword puzzles. In later years, she especially enjoyed dancing with her partner, Ray Rasey, to Duane Malinowski's band. Rosemary was a long time member of the Loyal Order of Moose. She attended Bedford Alliance in Temperance, Michigan and most recently, First Christian Church in Sylvania, Ohio.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Susan (Charles) Bischof of Allegany, NY; two sons, William Monroe and Michael (Susan) Monroe of Toledo; son in law, Gerry (Pat) Kane of Sylvania. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Christie Crisafulli, Matt and Megan Bischof, Lindsey and Michael Monroe, Rebecca Whitacre and Andrew Kane; 10 great-grandchildren and sister, Dorothy (Frank) Dean of Tallahassee, Florida.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Wagner in 1996; daughter, Valerie Jean Kane in 2009; beloved granddaughter, Dena Monroe-Miller in 2013 and brother, Jerry Pokrywka in 1956.
