Rosemary J. Daney, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, February 28, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born on January 12, 1925 to Leo and Mary (Lavin) Ulgener. Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a talented seamstress, knitter, baker and in her younger years she created clothing for antique dolls. Rosemary had a soft spot for all animals, especially her little squirrel friend who ate very well thanks to Rosemary. When she wasn't tending to her family and her little squirrel friend, she enjoyed following the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Pittsburgh Steeler's and the L.A. Laker's.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Bernard C. "Bern" Daney on November 10, 2005. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan (Al) Kraft, Diane Daney, Dr. Patrick (Kathleen) Daney and Linda (Randy) Wilson; grandchildren, Amy (Greg) Lyons, Jeffrey (Sabrina) Wilson, Michael Wilson, Dylan Daney (fiancé, Erica), Stephanie (Paul) Pirrone, Erica (Dr. Joseph) Finney and Samantha Daney; great-grandchildren, Vinnie, twins, Landon and Evan, Tessa, Macy, Gieuseppe and Giovanni and many special nieces, nephews.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Her Memorial Service will begin in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 p.m., Officiating will be Pastor Brad Wotring. Interment will be at a later date in Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, in Rosemary's memory Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Mission or to Nature's Nursery.
A special note of thanks to her grandson Michael Wilson, for keeping the promise he made 13 years ago to his Grandpa to look after Grandma.
