Rosa Lee Turnbough-Green of Toledo, Ohio completed her earthly journey and ascended to heaven on October 30, 2023, peacefully in her sleep. Rosa was born April 2,1963, to the union of Joe L. Turnbough Sr. and Jessie Mae Whiteside-Turnbough. Rosa was introduced to Christ at an early age and accepted Him as her personal savior at People's Missionary Baptist Church. As a child, Rosa was always studious, adventurous and outgoing. Rosa attended Ryder Elementary and Byrnedale Jr High, where she would spark lifelong friendships. She was an alumni of E.L Bowsher High School participating in basketball, cheerleading , student council and excelled in academics.
She furthered her education at The University of Toledo. She received an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Social Service Technology and a Masters Degree in Geography and Planning (ARTS). Rosa was at the top of her class while she attended University of Toledo, graduating Cum Laude. Following graduation, Rosa continued to be a pillar in her community, working with various nonprofit organizations throughout N.W. Ohio. The highlight of her career was being awarded a $300,000 Work Over Welfare grant and helping numerous community residents go to college and improve their lives.
Most recently, Rosa was the owner operator of Fawn Crest, an agency under the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Here, she was instrumental in providing a variety of top notch services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Rosa went above and beyond for her clients. Rosa was a very selfless individual with a true heart of gold. Rosa was a loving and devoted wife to Kirk L. Green Sr., for over 35 years. To this union three children were born: Kirk Jr., Chad and Casey. All those who were blessed to encounter Rosa, knew that her kids were her entire world. There was absolutely nothing Rosa would not do for her kids and grandchildren.
Rosa was preceded in death by her mother and her brother the Rev. Robert Hamilton. She leaves to cherish her memory and her legacy of faith, her husband Kirk Sr., her children Kirk, Chad and Casey, her bonus daughters Kimberly Outlaw and Tierra Nelson, her grandchildren, Kirk III, Jayda and Noa, her father, Joe, her siblings, Barbara Hamilton, Joe (Rochonda) Turnbough Jr, Charles (Renee) Turnbough Sr., Janie Turnbough McNeil, and Joanne Turnbough and her bonus sister Nedra Allen.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life at Friendship Baptist Church, located at 5301 Nebraska Ave, Toledo, Ohio on Saturday November 11,2023 at 12 PM. Friends will be received one hour prior to service.
