Ronald "Butch" L. Stephens, 76, of Maumee, passed away November 25, 2021 at Heritage Village. Ronald was born February 1, 1945 in Toledo to William and Betty (Riebe) Stephens.
He was a graduate of Macomber High School. Butch enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for several years. He was a truck driver for many years, retiring from Food Town Supermarket.
Butch loved the water and spending time at the family cottage on Lake Diane in Camden, Michigan. There were many memories made at the family cottage that included boating, skiing, and many fun parties. In 2014, Butch suffered from a massive stroke that greatly limited his mobility but he still enjoyed life with friends and family, always with a smile on his face.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife/caregiver, Sharon Stephens; children, Mindy (Danny) Scheffert and Ronald Stephens, II, both of Toledo; step-children, David (Marty) Klostermeyer, of Toledo and Jo Lynn (Brian) Welker, of Herriman, UT; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Meyer and Sue Salhoff; and many nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Stephens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Waterside Community Room, 7062 Longwater Dr., Maumee, OH 43537.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Charity of the Donor's Choice in Butch's memory.
