Ronald E. Schlaman, 81, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He will be dearly missed and will hold a special place in the hearts of all those that knew him.
Ron was born on November 22, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio to his late parents Earl and Eileen (Good) Schlaman. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jerry (Nancy) Schlaman.
Ron graduated from Waite High School, class of 1960. He was enlisted in the Army Reserves for eight years. Ron worked at Columbia Gas of Ohio, Director of Public Relations, for 35 dedicated years. He also served as President of Downtown Toledo Toastmasters, Downtown Toledo Lions Club, and the Toledo Management Association.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 57 years, Sharon (Irmen) Schlaman, his two daughters, Ronna (Eric) Vantiegham and Tana (Greg) Cepek. Grandsons Nick and Nathan Vantiegham and granddaughters, Taylor, Avery, and Addison Cepek.
Ron enjoyed playing golf, going fishing, vacationing and most importantly spending time with his family. This time with family made memories that can never be forgotten. He was a beloved husband, father, and papa. Everyone who knew Ron, knew he was the life of the party. Always making jokes, dancing, and singing.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4–8pm at the Newcomer Northwest Chapel located at 4150 W Laskey Rd. Toledo, OH 43623 to pay their respects. There will be a private family burial at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Oregon, Ohio.
