It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald F. Scharer, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather  and, who left this world peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 4, 1932, in Toledo, Ronald lived a life rich in devotion to his family and faith.

Ronald was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving honorably during the Korean War. His time in military service instilled in him a sense of duty and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

A man of many interests, Ronald was exceptionally active, enjoying the simple pleasures of riding his bike and walking in his community. He loved to embrace life’s moments and shared that passion with those around him. Ronald's love for his family was paramount, and he cherished the time spent with them, creating lasting memories that will forever be held dear.

He is survived by his devoted sons, Donald (Jackie), Robert (Janet), and Wayne (Beth) Starrett; his loving daughter, Camellia (Dave) Pawlicki; as well as his grandchildren Melissa, Angela, Chance, David, Alayna, Ben, Christine, and Abigale. Ronald also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren who will miss his warm heart and gentle spirit.

Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol D. Scharer, whose memory will remain etched in the hearts of those who knew them both. He is also reunited in spirit with his parents, Clifford and Fannie Scharer, and his siblings: Ed, Larry, Don, Frank, Bobby, Clara, and Juanita.

Ronald F. Scharer leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith, touching the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he impacted, reminding us all of the importance of family and the strength of a faithful heart. The family wishes  to thank his friends and the staff of Ohio Living at Swan Creek.
