Ronald Lloyd Lake, 78, of Toledo, passed away September 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Ronald was born April 15, 1943 in New Cumberland, OH to Lloyd "Lefty" and Fern (Leavers) Lake.
After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served his country as a frogman in the Vietnam War on the USS McKinley. Ron worked at Timken and Ford Motor Company as a machine repairman for several years. On May 22, 1965 he married his best friend, Tana Delmond (Dillon) Lake. Ron was a faithful member of Calvary Church in Maumee and American Legion in Bolivar, OH. He helped build the first Commons Swimming Pool in Bolivar.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He also liked to read about his ancestry, The Black Foot Indian Tribe in North Dakota, of which he was a descendent. Ron coached his sons', grandsons', and granddaughter many different sports. In his free time he liked to watch sports, especially the Cleveland Indians. Ron volunteered at the Cherry Street Mission where he was able to help many people in need.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Tana Delmond Lake; children, Kevin (Robin) Lake, Sean Lake; grandchildren, Austin (Cheyanne) Michael Lake, Colin (Taylor) Michael Lake, Hunter Michael Lake, Carson Lloyd Lake, Morgan Christian Lake; great-grandson, Beckham Michael Lake; siblings, Doyle (Connie) Lake, Regena Fishley; sisters-in-law, Karen Leigh (Jim) Ginter, Tonya Jean Dillon, Karla Leann Dillon; and beloved shih tzu, Mia.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Fern Lake.
The family will receive guests, Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Church, 1360 Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537 (419-893-2171) where Memorial Services will begin Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church, Folds of Honor, Samaritan's Purse or Tunnels to Towers in Ron's memory.
