Ronald L. Leroux

June 18, 1936 — April 16, 2014

Ronald L. "Ron" LeRoux, Age 77, of Maumee, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was born on June 18, 1936 to William and Mabel (Damon) LeRoux in Toledo, Ohio. Ron was a member of the Maumee High School Graduating Class of 1954 and an active alumni. Ron joined his family in business at the Billyle Cafe on Glendale Ave., in South Toledo and later opened The LeRoux's Billyle Supper Club with his Mother, Brother, and Sister. From its beginning the "Billyle" was a popular Restaurant and Night Club, as well as a premier part of South Toledo and the greater Toledo dining scene. Ron cherished the relationships he developed with his customers at the Billyle until the family closed the restaurant in 1987. Ron remained active in business in Northwest Ohio and worked as a realtor with DiSalle Real Estate and later with The Loss Realty Group.

While continuing to work in real estate Ron would set aside time for his love of auto racing, traveling with his friends and family to Indianapolis and other major race venues. Ron loved being "up north" at his cabin on Black River in Cheboygan, MI where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and relaxing while working outdoors. Ron grew in his faith as a member of Roberts Chapel Free Methodist Church and later became a member at Hope Baptist Church where he continued to build his relationship with God and others who came to know and love him.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, William and Ronald (Kathy); step-daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Griffin; grandchildren, Joshua and Tyler Turner, Julia Russel, Corey and Adam LeRoux; several great grandchildren and his long-time companion, Marge Shugar and many close friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Lyle, sisters, Lois and Evonne; daughters, Kimberly and Evette.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 from 2-8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) Memorial Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
