Ronald "Rocky" J. Knack, age 79, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 9, 1933 in Erie, Michigan to Francis and Florence (Barron) Knack. Rocky served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed as a machine supervisor for G.M. Powertrain for 29 years. Rocky enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, playing poker and coaching girl's softball. He was also a parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church and a member of the 197 Eagles, Knights of Columbus and G.M. Retirement club. Rocky enjoyed the first 300 game ever bowled at Douglas Lanes.
Left to cherish his memory is Rocky's loving wife of 58 years, Rose Mary (Lorigan) Knack; daughters, Sharon L. Knack, Ann Knack (Bob White) and Pam Moring; grandchildren, Jason Moring (Deanna Gehr), Nicholas Krohn and Jordan Smith; sister, Carol (George) Krenk; brother-in-law, Edward (Phyllis) Lorigan; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann and Kathy Lorigan; many nieces and nephews, and faithful companion "Molly." In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by his brother, Wilfred "Jack" Knack.
The family will receive guests Monday, November 26, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo (419-473-0300). There will be a sharing of memories service at 6:00 p.m. Monday. The family will also receive guests Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Church, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
