Ronald Keaton

May 29, 1934 — December 9, 2021

Ronald Elmer Keaton of Toledo, OH passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born to parents Elmer and Anna in Toledo, OH.

Ron graduated from Waite High School and then enlisted in the Air Force where he worked on B-24 planes and served in the Korean War. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching CYO basketball and facilitating basketball leagues through the YMCA. It was a rare occasion when the Keaton home wasn't filled with kids from the neighborhood that Ron cared for as if they were his own. When he wasn't busy with sporting events, you could find him with family and friends on his boat at his favorite walleye fishing spots on Lake Erie. In 1997, he moved to Ruskin, FL where he spent the next 2 decades creating cherished friendships and making lifelong memories. In 2018 he moved back to the Toledo area where he was able to spend more time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed talking with them about their latest school and sports achievements. At the end of every visit, he always reminded his grandchildren to take care of their parents and each other. Ron will be remembered for his unique humor and ability to always make others laugh. His legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren who exemplify his same humor and wit.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sons Ronald W. Keaton and Stuart C. Keaton as well as sisters Joan Wuest and Donna Quinn.

Ron is survived by his children Jeffrey (Julie) Keaton, Shannon (Wesley) Hawk, Paul Keaton, Elizabeth (Gregory) Konczal, Andrew (Meghan) Keaton, sister Joyce Shanteau, brothers Wynn, George, Charles and Robert Keaton and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Services for Ron will be private in accordance with his wishes and due to the current environment surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. Please continue to support Ron's family during this difficult time by sharing your prayers and thoughts on the "Share Memories" tab above.
