Ronald A. Kazmierski, age 78, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. On March 9, 1932 he was born to Roman and Sophia (Kisiel) Kazmierski in Toledo. Ron was a proud Marine enlisting at the tender age of 17 to serve his country during the Korean War. After his military discharge Ron worked a variety of mechanical jobs before he found his ideal career as a Toledo Police Officer. On December 31, 1987 he retired as Sergeant of the Auto Squad after 32 years of service. Ron had the misfortune of being wounded during the Korean War and also as a police officer. He was a loving husband and a devoted father, spending hours coaching his children and others in sporting activities. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Barbara (Hammond) Kazmierski; daughter, Pamela (Ed) Marok; son, Ron (Janice) Kazmierski Jr.; daughter-in-law, Katie Kazmierski; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death is his son, Michael Kazmierski on February 15, 2010.
The family will receive guests Friday from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Toledo Police Department Honor Guard will be conducting honorary services following the rosary. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo
Memorial Park where the Lucas County Veterans Burial Corp. will be rendering military graveside services.
