Ronald W. Hottmann

Ronald "Ron" Hottmann, age 69, a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend died Saturday, April 21, 2018. Born on April 7th, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, Ron was a 1967 graduate of Waite High School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. After coming home from the war, Ron worked for Jeep for 49.5 years and was number one seniority in the plant when he retired.

Ron's deepest dedication in life was supporting the A.A. organization and those he mentored through the program for many years. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. He has helped more people overcome their struggles than we will ever know. Those who knew him, are very proud of him and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordan (Violet "Vi") Hottmann and mother, Willa (Robert Sr.) DeShetler.

Ron is survived by his three sons, Steve (Wendy), Ronald Jr., and Anthony Hottmann; sisters, Beverly (Bill) Nesbit and Tonya Hottmann; brothers, Robert Lee (Ruth) DeShetler, Robert David Hottmann, and Michael DeShetler Sr. and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). His Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home on Monday, April 30, 2018. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.

The family asks that any memorials be sent to American Heart Association.
