Ronald J. "Ron" Hoffmann

Ronald J. “Ron” Hoffmann, resident of Toledo, OH, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024.

Ron went to Macomber High School, and later went into the United States Air Force where he served for four years. Ron spent nearly a year overseas as a mechanic. Upon his return, Ron went onto start his own company servicing cash registers and continued this profession until he became ill. In 2015, Ron lost the love of his life, Mickie. They spent many years together and truly enjoyed raising their family together, here in Toledo. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ron enjoyed his regular filet from Texas Roadhouse, where he leaves a lasting impression with his regular waitresses. Ron leaves behind his dear canine companion, Bella. Less than a year ago, Ron attended an Honor Flight to be remembered and honored for his service to the United States Military, where he viewed all of the monuments in Washington, DC. Ron dearly cherished this.

Those left to remember Ron are his daughter; Angela (Michael) Calandra; grandchildren, Adam (Katie) Calandra, Takota Hoffmann and Hannah (Patrick) Gillen; great grandchildren, Vinny and Isla Calandra; siblings, Sue (Mel) Thomas and William “Bill” Hoffmann.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, LaFaye “Mickie” (Simmons) Hoffmann; parents, Roland and Donna Hoffmann; sons, Rodney “Rod” Hoffmann and Timothy “Timmy” Hoffmann.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following, at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.

Ron will be laid to rest alongside Mickie at Toledo Memorial Park.
