Ronald "Gene" Dale, age 75, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at home. He was born on February 19, 1938 to Fred and Gladys (Fyffe) Dale in Vicksburg, Kentucky. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a Corp of Engineers, serving his country proudly. He was employed with Jeep for over 30 years before retiring. Gene loved the outdoors, especially fishing and taking care of his yard. He was an avid card player, especially "Hand and Foot." Gene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Dale and step-daughter, Michele Wooley, March 2013. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 23.5 years, Annie Dale; step-children/cousins, Mike, Daniel "Boondy" and Suzy Fyffe; special granddaughter, Erica (James) Michalak; granddaughter, Roni (James) Ellis; step-son-in-law, Bill Wooley; great- grandkids, James, Chase, Katie, Michael, DeAnna, Autumn and Ryleigh; sister, Shirley (Jerry) McDonald; brothers, Robert and Jerry (Rose) Dale; and relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
