Ronald "Ron" Dodd

Ronald "Ron" Dodd, born on May 9, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on September 25, 2024 surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived. He was a hardworking individual, cherished not only for his professional endeavors but also for his distinctive personality and the relationships he nurtured throughout his life.

A proud veteran, Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1976, where he honed his skills as a welder and technical boiler technician. His time in service laid the foundation for a fulfilling career at Chrysler Jeep, where he worked until his retirement in 2008. He was known as a jack of all trades, bringing a unique expertise and commitment to his role at the plant.

At home, Ron found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved watching football, playing his guitars, and listening to music, showcasing his self-taught talent that brought him immense pride. Known affectionately as "Ronnie," he had a kind and gentle spirit, a one-of-a-kind individual whose presence brought laughter and warmth to those around him. Although he was a man of few words, when he spoke, his observations were profound, and he was often the instigator of good-natured fun among family and friends.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Beth Dodd, his sisters Linda Bliss and husband Robert, Donna Pappas, brother-in-law Donnie Jahns and wife Donna, along with a gaggle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. He joins in eternal rest his parents, Lucion and Betty Dodd, as well as his nephew, Brian Bliss, beloved mother-in-law, Gaile Keil, father-in-law, Donald Jahns, and his cherished dog, Archie.

Friends and family are invited to honor Ron's life during the viewing on October 11, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 4:00 PM. Both events will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614.

Ron Dodd will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted brother, an adoring uncle, and a cherished friend. His legacy of kindness, humor, and music will undoubtedly resonate for generations to come.
