Ronald Lloyd Byram, 84, passed away January 17, 2018. He was adored and will be deeply missed by his family. Ron was born May 25, 1933 in Toledo, OH to Lloyd and Leona (Dilgart) Byram. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1952 where he played football and also met the love of his life, Joan (Clausius).
Ron was a fourth generation plaster and served two years in the US Navy. On August 23, 1963 he was appointed to the Toledo Fire Department where he rose to the rank of District Chief. While serving on the department, Ron received several awards with fellow firefighters for heroic deeds and saving lives. He retired September 15, 1988.
During his life, Ron was very handy with tools and assisted in the design and construction of several additions and a single family home. After retirement he owned, remodeled and managed a small Toledo apartment complex.
Besides his loving wife Joan of 64 years, he leaves behind three children, Charles, Michael and Karen, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Newcomer - Northwest Chapel (419-473-0300) is assisting the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Ron's memory.
