Rolland L. Axtell, age 71, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 20, 1945 to Theodore and Martha (Wyble) Axtell in Charlotte, Michigan. Rolland was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a Maintenance Technician at General Mills for 32 years before retiring. Rolland collected marbles, enjoyed gardening, and helping others fix things no matter what the project. He was always telling a joke and making people laugh. Rolland will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rolland is survived by his loving wife of almost 31 years, Cheryl Axtell; children, Dalena (Tim) Duke, Denise (Roman) Kozlowski, Darin (Mande) Parsons, Kimberly (Todd) Cotton, Anthony Axtell and Roberta Axtell; grandchildren; 17 and one on the way; and great-grandchildren; half-brother, Vern Norton; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 2 – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
