Roland W. Bell, Sr.
Roland W. Bell, Sr., age 91, of Toledo, passed away Friday, January 28th, 2005 surrounded by his family in his home. He was born July 4, 1913 to Clarence F. and Beatrice (Whipple Stiff) Bell, Sr. in Toledo. Roland was employed as a carpenter for over 25 years with the Air Seal Company, retiring in 1980. He was a WWII U.S Army Veteran and a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he worked for the past 24 years.
In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Bell and sister, Dorothy Shackley. He is survived by his loving children, Karen Smith; Roland (Debbie) Bell, Jr, and Floyd (Mary Ann) Bell; brothers, Bob Bell of Dayton, OH; Clarence "Bud" Bell, Jr. of AZ and sister, Dorothy Deeds; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandsons and 1 great-great granddaughter and several neices and nephews.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Snyder. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
