Rodger Upton, age 84, of Toledo, passed away December 1, 2016 at Arbors at Sylvania. Rodger was born September 1, 1932 in to Thomas and Mabel (Wallace) Upton. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Rodger was a Certified Public Casualty Underwriter. Rodger will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rodger was a 1950 graduate of Libbey High School and attended the University of Toledo. After working for Retail Credit and American States Insurance, he established his own company, the Toledo Claims Service, which handled primarily commercial and individual claims.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Arthur Upton; sisters, Lois Gensler; Bonnie (Louis) Woods and granddaughter, Crystal Brandt.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 beginning at 6:00 pm. Burial will be private.
