Roberto "Champ" Jaime, Sr, age 64, of Toledo, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Roberto was the son of Wenceslado and Trinidad (Garcia) Molina, born on November 3, 1943 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Genoa High School in 1962. Roberto was employed with Chrysler for 37 years and 3 months until retiring in 2007. He was a drummer for many conjunto bands and was an avid softball player. Roberto loved sports and was a huge fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of New Life Pentecostals of Toledo for 8 years and loved the Lord. Roberto often enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carlos "Jr." Molina. Roberto is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Dorothy E. Jaime; children: Roberto, Jr. (Christina), Adelina "Nina", David (Heather), Elizabeth and Trina Jaime; step-children: Mary, Dennis, Jr. and Heather McCoy; grandchildren: Roberto, III, Alexis Amor, Donny, Sabrina, Jay, Yisenya and Leandra; brothers: Rudy (Crispina), Jesse, Johnny and Alfred "Freddy" (Georgina) Molina; former spouse: Rosario Jaime; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 3–8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and Tuesday from 10-11:00 a.m. at New Life Pentecostals of Toledo, 30470 Lemoyne Rd., Walbridge, OH. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Officiating will be Pastor Jonathan Perry. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
