Robert G. "Bob" Westrick

Robert G. “Bob” Westrick, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Kingston of Perrysburg with his loving grandson by his side. He was born on May 13, 1941 to Alphonso and Mary (Jackman) Westrick in Toledo. Bob graduated in 1959 from Waite High School. He worked as a foreman for the City of Toledo Water Division for 33 years until retiring. Bob was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was a huge car enthusiast especially of classic cars. For many years he could always be seen with a cigar in hand or in his pocket! Bob liked spending time with his family and grandchildren but his biggest devotion was to his wife Kathie. He was her biggest caregiver, supportive and they were always together. They often enjoyed casino trips and going out to eat. Bob’s smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Sister Mary Margaret Westrick RSM, Joseph Westrick, Leonard “Bill” Westrick, and John Westrick. Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Kathie Westrick; grandson, Robert (Lora) Goeller; several great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Minning; sisters-in-law, Kay Westrick and Alice Westrick; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Mass will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5153 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611 with visitation in church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
