Robert Dean Venable, age 82, of Toledo, passed away May 31, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. He was born July 5, 1941 in Toledo to George and Frances (Bland) Venable. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He started his employment as a carpenter building cabinets and gained the title of master cabinet maker. Bob then went on to work for Local 45 as an Insulator and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed painting, drawing Disney cartoons and researching his genealogy. The greatest love of Bob's life was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Shirley (Domonkos) Venable; son, Robert Venable, Jr. and siblings, Georgia Ryan and Donald and Eugene Venable. He is survived by his children, Vickie (John) Mickey, Sandra (Todd) Meredith and Jeffrey (Shelley) Venable; grandchildren, Alex (Ashlynn) Mickey, Aaron (Kelsey) Mickey, Katlyn (Matt Vrana) Venable, Ryan Venable, Casey Meredith and Tyler Meredith; great-grandchildren, Alaina and Conor Mickey; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
