Robert Richardson

Robert Eugene Richardson, age 82, of Grand Rapids, passed away quietly at home on March 9, 2020. Robert was born July 27, 1937 in Toledo to John and Mary (Hoag) Richardson. Gunny proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He was also a proud member of the Blackfoot tribe. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sitting on the porch watching cars drive by. Gunny will be remembered for his strong work ethic and being a devoted family man. He never met a stranger he wasn't willing to strike up a conversation with. Gunny was also known for his stories and tall tales.

In addition to his parents, Gunny was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Deloris, daughter, Toy Ann Marunowski, granddaughter Mary Jane Keil, sister Adamae Shiflet and brothers; Doodie, Hank, Jimmy and Tommy. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Robert (Marie) Richardson II, Teresia (Phillip) Buck, Katy (Joe) Smith, John Richardson, David (Tiny) Richardson, sisters; Dubb Ruckman and Jackie (Paul) Davis, 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive guests Friday, March 13, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial at Whitehouse Cemetery.
