Robert Richards

Robert P. Richards, age 67 of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, October 18th, 2005 in the Toledo Hospital. He was born March 28, 1938 to Kenneth and Charlotte (Potter) Richards in Toledo. Robert was employed with the former AP Parts for 31 years retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the F.O.E. Post #197. Robert was also a longtime member of the GBU and the Grounds Chairman of Oak Shade Grove. He enjoyed bowling, once bowling a perfect 300 a few years ago. Robert was a very caring man and spent many years being Santa at NW Ohio Hospice, delivering Care-Bears to the patients. He also traveled with his wife, Marge to Ft. Myers Beach, FL for many years, as well as many cruises.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, William Richards. He is survived by his loving wife with whom he would have celebrated 45 years of marriage in December, Margaret M. "Marge"(Petz) Richards; daughters, Kelly A. (Richard) Kilgour and Lori L. (Bryon) Romstadt; grandchildren, Rachelle N. Mitchell; Brittany; Renae and Robert Romstadt; in-laws, Robert (June) and Rudy (Josephine) Petz; Mary (Louie Nagy) Richards and 11 nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 729 White St. Officiating will be Fr. John Blaser. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas School.
