Robert Allen Owens, age 72, of Waterville, OH entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 1, 2021 at The ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
Born in Detroit, MI, on June 1, 1949, he was the son of Milo and Rosemary Owens. He attended Manistee High School and graduated in the class of 1967. He worked for Martin Marietta as a supervisor and retired after 32 years of service. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus serving as a deputy grand knight. He was an avid car enthusiast, drag racing in his youth, building numerous hot rods, and even serving as a member of Jerry Glanville racing pit crew.
Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jane (Cogswell) Owens; sons, Troy Owens, of Davisburg, MI, Brian (Melissa) Owens of Tontogany, OH; sister-in-law, Ginny Owens; siblings, Jim (Pam) Owens, Chuck Owens, Ruth (Den) Simoneau, Bill (Mary) Owens and Tim (Candy) Owens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and four-legged family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Larry, Tom and John Owens and sisters-in-law, Patty Owens and Kimmy Owens.
The family will receive guests Friday, October 8, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Providence of Grand Rapids, OH, 14010 US RT 24 (419-832-5215). The Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Providence or the Wood County Humane Society in Robert's memory.
