Robert N. "Rob" Durell, age 50, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 28, 2014. He was born on September 11, 1963 to Robert E. and Jackie (Lytten) Durell in Toledo. Rob was a 1981 graduate of Whitmer High School and was an avid racing fan and crew chief for Randy Cornett and Dave Arnold at Toledo Speedway. He was a Michigan Wolverine, Cleveland Brown's and Nascar enthusiast. Throughout his life he was very involved with auto repairs, he worked at various dealerships and garages in Toledo. He was a faithful member of Bill Wilson's family and support group.
Rob's family will remember him for his sense of humor and compassion he had for others. Most precious to him were his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 12 years, Trish (Moncada) Durell; parents, Bob and Jackie Durell; children, Rachel Durell, Kenny Vasquez, Linda (P.J.) Moncada, Erika Moncada and Elizabeth Hornik; grandchildren, Bryan, Steffane, Anthony, Mackenzie, Kenny Jr.and Audrianna; sisters, Kelly (Thomas) McDonald and Jodi (Steve) Przymierski; many nieces and nephews; faithful companion, Harley and a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his God Mother, Deborah Mangotic.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home where the family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
