Robert Munson

Robert E. "Bob" Munson, age 79, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on May 31, 1930 to Walter and Margaret (Eply) Munson in Toledo, Ohio. On April 25, 1988 he married Sharon (Shinavar) Munson in Toledo, Ohio. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sharon; daughters, Barbara Jean (Howard) Stanbery, Dawn (Freddie) Rospert; sons, Robert (Margie) Munson Jr., Roy Munson; step-sons, Jeffrey Shaffer and Mark (Annette) Shaffer; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Munson, James (Linda) Reaster, Richard (Donna) Reaster, William Reaster; sisters, Shirley (Chester) White, Betty Brabb and Ruth (James) Karcsak. Bob is also survived by nieces, Margaret (John) Dandar and Valerie (Bob) McAninch, whom he raised and loved as his own. Preceding him in death are his parents, step-parents; son, Ronald Munson; sisters, Janet Harsh and Margaret Torres; brother, Donald Reaster.

For many years, Bob was a trustee at the Bay View Retirees Golf Course. He was a current member and past president of the North Toledo Arrow Club. Bob often enjoyed playing euchre with his fellow "workers" at the Bay View Retirees Golf Course. Bob spent a lot of his time with his best friend, his beagle, named Buddy. He will be remembered as a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

The family will receive guests from 2-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor John Heard.
