Bob Long, 91, of Toledo Ohio, was surrounded by his loving family when he made his journey to his heavenly home on December 22, 2017. He was born the oldest of 10 siblings to the union of Evelyn and Clarence Long on February 14, 1926, in Parker Town Ohio. He proudly served his country as a Communications Officer in the Air Force during WWII. He retired from Maumee Stone Quarry and went on to work in the apartment management business, and finally retired from Midwest Environmental. A man of many talents; he could fix anything and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was our rock. He had a smile that would brighten a room, and a heart overflowing with love. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing, but mostly spending time with his family.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents, siblings Clarence, Jim, Donna, Eunice, & Shirley, and first wife Eva. He is survived by his wife Jeannie, children Bob (Cathy), Gary (Kris), Cliff Barnard, Julie Judson, & Dawn Christensen, siblings Don, Richard, Frank, & Sharon, and 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Ridgewood Manor for their kind and compassionate care of Bob.
Visitation will be held December 30, 2017, from 10 AM to Noon, Memorial Service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo OH 43614.
