Robert A. Lloyd

Robert A. Lloyd, age 65, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 surrounded by his family. Rob was born March 24, 1954 in Solon, Ohio, to Kenneth and Carolyn (Todd) Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cindy; daughter, Kenna (Zak) Shepherd; son, Jacob; brothers, Richard and Kenneth; his faithful canine companion, Taco; and numerous family and friends.

Known at work as Bob, he was employed at Parker Hannifin for 48 years. He began as a floor sweeper in 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio, while studying to become an accountant. After finishing school, Rob was promoted to general accounting which led him to be transferred to the plant in Metamora, Ohio, as the accounting manager where he worked for the last 30 years.

Rob was a die-hard Cleveland sports fanatic. He had a vast knowledge of and love for all genres of music and, in recent years, had been teaching himself to play guitar. But Rob's greatest love was his family and friends. Regardless of the size of the project, Rob was always willing to help, earning him the title "Neighbor of the Year." Rob had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a story to tell. Rob will be remembered for singing off key; his favorite dance move, the lawnmower; and for the love and joy he brought to the lives of all who knew him.

Although we wish his time on earth could have been longer, Rob lived a full life. It was important to him that all children had an opportunity to do the same. In memory of Rob, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family will receive guests Friday, December 20, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) with a Remembrance service at 7:00 p.m. Mass will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo.
