Robert L. Summerford

Robert L. "Bob" Summerford, age 56, of Toledo, passed away Friday, August 6th, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born August 14th, 1953 to Garland and Thelma (Jones) Summerford in Adrian, Michigan. Bob grew up in Palmyra Michigan and traveled all over the country before settling in Toledo. He enjoyed listening to Classic Rock music and was a collector of autographs and memorabilia of music and sports personalities. Bob also had a love of motorcycles. Trained as an electrician and being handy when it came to fixing things, Bob was in the process of renovating his home. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, James Summerford and Tony Arnold. He is survived by his son, Levi (Jacqueline) Summerford; grandson, Kaden Summerford; significant other, Sue Pinney and sister-in-law, Bonnie Summerford. Also surviving are Bob's special aunt, Marie Belford; special uncle, Michael (Michelle) Bailey; 3 nephews and several cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with funeral services beginning Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra, Michigan.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
