Robert M. "Bob" Kern, passed on to a better place Saturday afternoon at the age of 62, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sylvania March 26, 1956 to parents John and Patricia (King) Kern.
Bob graduated from Sylvania High School and was employed for many years by Kaufman Engineering as a welder/fabricator. Bob was one of the funniest people you could ever meet. He never met a stranger. Along with being a 32nd degree mason he had a lot of friends including one of his best friends, Bill Wilson who between the two touched and changed the lives of so many people. I don't think you could find a bigger Buckeye fan, Go Bucks! He loved his bikes from Norton's to Harley's to his most favorite Honda Goldwing. He loved sailboat racing with his brother and going to Columbus, especially during the football season to visit with his sister for the games, dining out and shopping. Bob's talent also included metal sculpture and photography and was also a certified 1st class PADI scuba diver. Bob loved his music while driving or cooking some of the best food you ever ate. He would be listening to anything from Led Zeppelin to really good jazz. He had a heart of gold and will sorely be missed actually, he was priceless.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Patricia Anne Kern and John (Debbie) Kern, Jr.; cousin, Shirley Dwyer. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sister, Karen Diane Kern.
The family would like to especially thank Sara and Dwayne and the entire staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. All of you are amazing! Thank you!
