Robert J. "Bob" Beebe, age 90, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born on July 25, 1920 to Raymond and Eva (Addison) Beebe in Toledo. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country proudly during WWII. He was on the destroyers, U.S.S. Chevalier and the U.S.S. Ingraham. Bob was employed with Autolite for over 19 years and then retired from the Spicer Corp. after 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 576 and VFW Post 606. Bob enjoyed bowling and spending afternoons playing euchre. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Indians. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Margaret Ann McHugh, sister, Doris Flynn and 2 step-children. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Margaret "Marge" Beebe; children, Raymond (Robin) Beebe, Michael (Ernestine) Beebe, Barbara (Walter) Baker and Patricia Eckel; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and step-children, Dawn (Leejay) Elder and Valerie Poulos.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
