Robert David Hottmann, 63, passed away suddenly on February 21, 2022, at Spring Meadows Villa. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 21, 1958, to Violet (nee Eicher) Hottmann Marshall and Gordon Hottmann.
Dave graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1976 and attended Capital University from 1976 to 1980, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Upsilon. He worked as a Regional District Manager at Speedway before holding various positions at the Toledo YMCA. He umpired and coached youth baseball in his free time, which was his greatest passion. Dave was a loving father and grandfather who devoted his life to helping others, including coaching children for the Special Olympics. Dave was known for his friendly smile, compassionate embrace, warm-hearted presence, and generous gift of love and time for all he met.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Hottmann.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his children, Katy (nee Hottmann) Stetka, James Hottmann, and Kassandra Hottmann; grandchildren, Violet, Eternity, Lilly, Clarity, and Logan; sisters,Tonya Hottmann and Beverly Nesbitt; ex-wife, Kathie Hottmann; and countless friends who knew him as Dave, Bob, and Coach.
Family and friends may visit to celebtrate Dave's life on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from noon to 5:00 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0030).
