Robert H. Mcgovern

Robert H. "Bob" McGovern, age 90, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on May 29, 1924 to Harry and Edna (Goodman) McGovern in Toledo, OH. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He later retired in 1986 from Schindler Elevator Corp. after 25 plus years of service. Bob married Lois (Qualls) McGovern on April 7, 1945 in Dallas, TX and they were married for 67 years prior to her passing in 2013.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Bobbie Meck, Sue (Mike) Mann, Chris McGovern and Betsy (Scott) Smith; grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Bill, Michelle, Brian, Bill, Tony, Christopher and Scott; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Sophie, Justin, Jennah, Erick and Kaitlin; sisters, Joyce and Judy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; son, Tim McGovern and six siblings.

The family will receive guests on Friday, February 13, 2015 from Noon - 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin on Friday in the funeral home at 4:00 p.m.
