Robert Franklin McElheney, age 69, a longtime Toledo and Ottawa Hills resident, passed away Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. He was born September 11th, 1939 to Robert F. and Violet (Zeller) McElheney in Toledo. Bob owned a local Hardware store for more than 23 years. More recently he was employed with Home Depot in the Appliance Department for 10 years. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country proudly. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, cherishing his time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joanne (Gebhardt) McElheney; son, Robert F. (Tracy) McElheney, IV; daughters, Mary M. (Lee) Rinehart of Dallas, PA and Michele M. (Jodie) McFarland of Harrison,OH; 13 grandchildren; brothers, William J. McElheney of Toledo and Ray E. McElheney of Mission Viejo, CA; sister, Mary E. McElheney of Laguna Niguel, CA and many dear friends.
At Bob's request there will be a Memorial Service held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3077 Valleyview Dr. at Central, Toledo.
The family will receive guests Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the church with the services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
