Robert F. Mitro, Sr.

Robert Frank Mitro, Sr., age 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 after a sudden illness at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born on July 28, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Mary and Stephen Mitro. On February 11, 1956 he married Lois Lemgo. Bob was a Police Officer for the City of Toledo for 26 years, retiring in 1989. His greatest enjoyment was spending time outdoors and fishing with his family. Bob was an avid hunter, enjoying time with friends and his sons during their trips. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed wood carving, gardening and fellowship with friends and neighbors.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife almost 60 years, Lois; sons, Robert (Cheryl) Mitro and Michael (Cindy) Mitro; daughters, Susan (Gene) Ashcraft and Colleen (Chuck) Braham; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his grandsons, Christopher Mitro and Eric Braham.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Policeman's "Last Salute" and Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00 p.m.
