Robert F. Lane, age 66, of Point Place, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 from injuries from an auto accident. He was born on May 13th, 1944 to William F. and Ethel Marie (Navarre) Lane in Toledo, Ohio. Bob was a graduate of Woodward High School, Class of 1962. He married Margy M. Kaspitzke on May 4th, 1973 at Sacred Heart Church in Toledo and together they spent 37 wonderful years. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country proudly. He was employed with the DeVilbiss Company and a member of UAW Local 12 for 22 years. Bob then worked for the City of Toledo, retiring in 2006 after 10 years. He and his wife Margy attended Regina Coeli Church. Bob enjoyed watching old movies with one of his favorites being "Evita". He also loved camping with his family, watching Nascar and taking trips to area casinos. Bob was also and avid Minnesota Vikings fan. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Bob was joined in death by his wife, Margy M. (Kaspitzke) Lane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Patrick Huth; brother, Richard "Duck" Lane; brother-in-law, Jim Gralak; sister-in-law, Joy Lane and nephew, Steve Gralak. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Ron) Sedlock; son, Richard F. Lane; grandchildren, Hallie Marie and Devin Roy Sedlock; siblings, Jane Gralak, William Lane, Pat (Dave) Denner, Kitty (Ed) Kaminski, Sara (Ed Leroy) Edwards and Mike Lane. Also surviving are his many dear nieces, nephews and friends and his faithful cat, "Tigger."
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday with a Private Prayer Service for the Family at the funeral home. Guests are invited to join the family at 11:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Church, 530 Regina Parkway for a Mass of Christian Burial. Officiating will be Fr. James Auth. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all contributions be made to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
