Robert E. Pontious

Robert "Bob" E. Pontious, age 87, of Holland, Ohio passed away June 25, 2016 at his home. He was born September 8, 1928 in Toledo to Alfred and Nina (Bridges) Pontious. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with Champion Spark Plug for more than 37 years as a machine operator. Bob was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, played the saxophone in the church orchestra and past Master of the Collingwood Masonic Lodge.

Bob is survived by his children, Gary (Marilyn) Pontious, Rick (Cathy) Pontious, Kenneth (Brenda) Pontious and Kathy (Rick) Petree; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Pontious; brother, Willis Pontious and sister, Doris Pontious.

The family will receive guests, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-391-1900). Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God in Bob's memory.
