Robert E. Ames

Robert E. Ames, age 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 7, 2014 at Heartland of Perrysburg. He was born December 29, 1928 in Toledo to Clarence and Lillian (Hilding) Ames. Bob was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was employed with the New York Central Railroad for more than 42 years retiring in 1990. Bob enjoyed camping at Silver Lake in Angola, Indiana.

Bob is survived by his sons, Steve (Jeri) and Tim Ames; grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Ames and Lindsay Ames; great-granddaughter, Emily Ames; sisters, Ethel Mae Schimmel and Justine Gargac. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane and daughter, Cheryl.

There will be no visitation and services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Bob's memory.
