Robert Dennis, age 92, passed away on September 4, 2014. He was born on March 30, 1922 to the late Fern and Edward Dennis in Fostoria.
Bob was proud of the time he spent in the Army and had the opportunity to go to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight. He volunteered at Providence Center Food Bank every Wednesday and Thursday for over 30 years. Bob once owned and operated B&C Towing Company. He was a handyman of all sorts, but especially enjoyed working on cars. Bob worked as a Truck Driver for A & P for 35 years and then for Sheler Globe. He retired from Wood Trucking when he was 68, to take care of his wife.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Betty (Doug) Jones and Patty (Carl) Beaty and many adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Rozella in 2005; three sons, Robert "Butch", Jack and Carl.
The family will receive guests on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Martin Billmeier officiating. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
