Robert L. "Bob" Bryant, age 89 of Toledo, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born January 5, 1922 to Johnson and Ora (Chadwick) Bryant in Toledo. Bob worked at Ransom & Randolph (Dentsply) for over 20 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Heritage Church of God and had been a member of the Boulevard Church of Christ for over 50 years where he could always be found at the door ushering on Sunday morning. Bob proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the LST 117 in the Pacific Fleet. He was also a long time member of "Our Organ Club" of Toledo, Ohio. Bob was very proud of his family and friends; they were his passion in life.
Left to cherish his memory are his children David (Lynn) Bryant and Lorraine (Greg) Keel; grandchildren, Jereme (Angela) Bryant, Melissa (Brian) Owens and Adam (Erin) Keel; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Jeremiah Bryant, Aubry Keel and Austin and Autumn Clapp; special friends, Peggy Stalder, Cecil Davis and Elsie Luce. Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Marcella Bryant; parents; brothers, Jesse, Don, Lawrence and Johnson Bryant.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Friday from 10:00 a.m. – Noon at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Rd., Maumee, Ohio. Funeral Services will begin in the church at Noon. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Fry and Pastor Lewis Kujawski. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
