Robert E. "Bob" Black, Sr., age 58, of Toledo, passed away in the ER at Toledo Hospital on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. He was born on October 24, 1958 to Robert K. and Rose Mary (Lazar) Black in Toledo. Bob was a true outdoorsman since his younger years in the Boy Scouts, he loved nature and all that it entailed. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and lift-up their spirits with his witty sense of humor. Most recently he worked for Homeland Security at various places such as the Temple Shomer, Khans Motors, Lakeport VW and many other locations. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Christina (Harrison) Black; children, Rob (Casandra) Black and Christina Black, Jr.; grandchildren, Mercadez, Lincoln and Porchia; mother, Rose Mary Black; siblings, Laura Salisbury, William Black and Linda (Peter) Vavrinek and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert K. Black in Dec. 2016 and mother in law, Lulu Belle Harrison.
The family will receive guests on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Bob was an organ and tissue donor and by this quiet and generous action he will be able to help many others in the future.
In memory of Bob, memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Area Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
