Robert J. "Bob" Bailey, age 80, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Merit House Senior Community. He was born on August 21, 1941 to Earl and Julia (Brazzill) Bailey in Cleveland, Ohio. Bob graduated from Scott High School. He worked as a journeyman painter throughout his career retiring in 2003. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus for many years. Bob was also Scout Master at The Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, Troop 39 for 50 years. He served in scouting for a total of 60 years. Bob received the scouting adult's awards, Silver Beaver and St. George, which he was very proud of. He was also a tenor in the choir at The Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. In May of 2016 Bob accepted the Lord as his personal savior and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Bob enjoyed camping, being in the outdoors, canoeing, and dogs. His favorite pastime was drag racing, and he was an avid bowler and collected toy cars and trucks. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Bailey; and grandparents, Byron and Blanche Brazzill. Left to cherish Bob's memory are his sister, Blanche Marie "Bonnie" Bailey; and best friends, Kevin Schmenk, Mike Wagner, Tony Hammer, Steve Villagomez and Vinney Cortez.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo. OH 43623 with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
