Rita Sirilo

Rita M. (Muszynski) Sirilo, age 80, of Toledo, passed away Monday, June 8th, 2009 peacefully, as the longest survivor of ovarian cancer. She was born September 17th, 1928 to Theodore and Thersa (Szymanski) Muszynski in Toledo. By her example, Rita taught the world how to live a joyful and loving life with a chronic and debilitating illness while still giving to others as a teacher, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

Rita will be missed by many, especially her loving husband of 61 years, Ernest S. Sirilo; daughter, Sandy; son-in-law, Rick; grandchildren, Evan; Eric and Ellery; sisters, Christine Bugaj and Barbara Steenrod and several beloved neices and nephews and Jacob Steenrod her special nephew. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Theresa (Szymanski) Muszynski and her brothers, Eugene; Ernie and Florian. Rita's Family rests in the knowledge that she has met them again in Heaven.

The Sirilo Family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the nurses at Toledo Hospital Outpatient Oncology for all their loving care and support. A special thank you to Dr. Phibbs and his staff for their specialized care, direction and friendship over the last 30 years.
