Rita Mary Nadolny

Rita Mary Nadolny, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at Glass Peaks Senior Living, at the age of 100. She was born June 5, 1924, in Toledo, Ohio.

Rita's educational journey began at Notre Dame Academy, where she graduated in 1942. Her unwavering dedication to her Catholic faith was evident in her involvement throughout the years with St. Charles Parish in Lima and Gesu Catholic Church in Toledo, where she found solace and strength, nurturing her vivacious spirit each week in fellowship and prayer. For 19 remarkable years, Rita worked at Champion Spark Plug. 

In her personal life, Rita was a skilled and self-taught seamstress. Her artistic flair brought warmth and beauty into the homes of those she loved, crafting shirts and curtains that embodied her attention to detail and creative soul. Each stitch was a tangible expression of her love, making every piece she created not just fabric, but a cherished memory.

Rita will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of faith, creativity, and kindness will carry on through the stories shared by family, friends, and the many people fortunate enough to have known her. As we celebrate her remarkable life, we hold close the values she embodied: love, compassion, and an enduring belief in the goodness of others. 

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her son, John (Sue) Nadolny; grandson, John (Tabatha) Nadolny II; five great granddaughters, Kylee, Kerstin, Kennedy, Maddie, and Laura; and two step great granddaughters, Riley and Ashley.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Clement Nadolny Jr.; grandson, Ryan Nadolny; and granddaughter, Kellyn Wingate.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral beginning at 1:00 pm. Rita will be laid to rest at Gethsemani Cemetery, on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 12:00 pm. For those wanting to attend the committal service, please meet directly at the cemetery at 12:00 pm.
