Rita M. Middleton

On December 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm Our beloved Matriarch, Rita Middleton passed away peacefully with her family around her. She joined her one and only true love Harold D. Middleton on their 72nd Wedding Anniversary, in Heaven. Harold and Rita met in 1943 at a roller skating rink. They loved to skate and dance, especially to their favorite song, The Tennessee Waltz. Rita was 91 years "young" and was the twinkle in her families eye. She has spent the last 8 years living at Elizabeth Scott Community on Albon Rd in Maumee. She loved all of her nurses and aides she had there, she thought of them as her extended family. Rita and Harold had a trailer at Silver Lawn Trailer Park in Michigan and had 60 happy summers at the lake with her family and friends. She was the oldest resident at the park. They spent many years traveling back and forth to Bradenton Florida for the winters.
Rita leaves behind her daughter Carol Brown, son Robert (Susan) Middleton, sister-in-law Joanne Collins, brother Jack (Kathleen) Hawley; grandchildren Michelle (Anthony) Tebary, Jennifer (Joe) Shamy, Bob (Kathy) Middleton, Brian (Patti) Brown, Robbie Mack, Christopher Mack, Annette (John) Walker. Rita has 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, as well as other family and friends that love her.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband Harold D Middleton, daughter Lynette Mack, sons-in-law David Brown, Patrick Mack, parents Carrie & John Hawley, sisters Joanne Pullen, Mona Hecox, and her always loyal Beagle CQ.
The family asks that donations made in Rita's honor be made to the Toledo Area Humane Society in her name, as she loved any animal and creature that walks this earth. Donations can also be made to Elizabeth Scott Community Memorial Fund.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 20, 2017 from 2 to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
