Rita Mae Kaptur

Rita M. (Mominee) Kaptur, age 86, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Franciscan Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 5, 1928 to Charles and Dorothy (Morrin) Mominee in Erie, Michigan. Rita was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. She loved to cook for everyone, and enjoyed gardening and quilting. Rita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kaptur; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Rita is survived by her loving children, Steven Kaptur, Christopher (Renee) Kaptur, James Kaptur, Kenneth Kaptur and Regina (Jeffrey) Whalen; grandchildren, Nicole (Cassidy), Ashley, Brittany, Michael, Cassandra, Jacob and Lukas; devoted sister, Joan Lochbihler; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Prayers will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

The family would like to give all of the staff and caregivers at the Franciscan Care Center a special thank you for all of their love, care and support given to Rita and her family through this difficult time.
