Rita M. (Dudley) Friend
Rita M. (Dudley) Friend, 82 of Toledo, passed away Wednesday June 11, 2003 at Spring Meadows Extended Care Center. Rita was born April 29, 1921 to Lawrence and Neva (Fife) Dudley in Toledo. She graduated from Macomber High School in 1938 and attended the University of Toledo. Rita was employed with Willys Jeep retiring after 30 years. She had a great love of wildlife, animals, and nature. Rita was an active member of several societies, including World Wildlife, and National Geographic. She also was a talented artist and singer. Rita sang with the Local 12 Coral Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Patricia Adams, and a brother: Robert Dudley
Survivors include her daughters: Nancy Early of Toledo, Ann Cantin of Toledo, Mary Kay (Michael) Sullivan of Waterville, Dolores Friend of Toledo, son: Jon (JoAnn) Friend of West Chester, Oh., sisters: Ruth Barger, Joanne Long, brothers: Tom Dudley, and Art (Darlene) Dudley all of Toledo. Also surviving are her 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the Newcomer – Farley Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road at Talmadge. Service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home.
