Rita Dolores Lewis, age 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023, at her home. She was born on August 18, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late John and Jane (Walsh) Thiel.
Rita graduated from Whitney High School. She had worked at Wettle Corporation, a family business, as an office manager for 18 years. Rita enjoyed relaxing while playing Candy Crush, Words with Friends and Dice with Buddies. She enjoyed British television shows and was a supporter of PBS (WGTE). A woman of faith with a strong connection with God, Rita read her bible verses everyday along with the rosary. Above all, family, especially her grandchildren, were most important. The memories shared will forever be remembered. Her love and smile will forever be missed. This isn't goodbye, but until we meet again.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Kami (Doug) Rowe; son, Brent (Heather) Wettle; grandchildren, Jake (Ashley), Andrew (Patty), Tristan (Johnny); great grandson, Brayden; sisters, Ceci (Larry) Gladieux and Jane (Craig) Wagner; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Wilde and Marie "Tess" Ethridge.
At this time, there are no services scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rita's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Wounded Warrior Project.
